Partners - Work Incentives Network

(formerly Benefits Information Network Steering Committee)

The Department of Health and Human Services through the Medicaid Infrastructure Grant (MIG) is exploring ways to expand the capacity for benefits planning for persons with disabilities. This work is being done in partnership with several state and federal organizations. Our goal is to build a statewide system for benefits planning that is included in the state’s employment and training infrastructure. View the Nebraska Work Incentives Network Fact Sheet.

Benefits Planning Query Handbook

The Benefits Planning Query (BPQY) has improved the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) efforts to inform Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) beneficiaries and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients about their disability benefits and the use of the work incentives.

Additional Information:

Using Work Incentives to Enhance Employment Services and Collaborate with the WIPA
When you start employment services with the individual, your first step is to get in touch with the individual and make sure you have at least one hour designated to interview them regarding all of their federal and state benefits.

Module 5 - Insuring the Provision of High Quality WIPA Services (SSA)
CWICs deliver planning, advisement and support services in highly sensitive areas related to beneficiary finances and healthcare coverage on a daily basis.  Since the potential risks to beneficiaries are high if inadequate or poor quality services are provided, it is imperative that WIPA projects implement rigorous quality assurance procedures.
